How many times have you been asked this question?
How did you answer the question? Have you ever taken the time to think
about the question? The answer to the last question is: When I thought
about writing this.
Goldwing Road Riders Association’s motto is friends for fun, safety,
and knowledge. GWRRA provides a service to the Goldwing owner
(also Valkyrie owners). The association brings together tremendous talent.
Talent that can answer your questions about your motorcycle, touring,
camping, and many other subjects as demonstrated on the message boards
available on the GWRRA web site.
The services provided to you by the association are also tremendous
roadside assistance, Wing World magazine, and ‘The Gold Book’.
This are provided at no additional charge!!!!! The cost of
roadside assistance alone pays for your membership. You can get
additional coverage for an additional cost to cover everything you
drive or tow. The Wing World magazine has interesting stories,
product reviews, a regional, district, and chapter directory that covers
all 50 states and 52 countries. My favorite is the Gold Book; you
just don’t leave home without it. The book has a state by state listing.
Members that are there to assist you when you need it most, either
because of break down, accident, or what ever!! I have used the book
when traveling across the country and need welding done. You can read
stories and thank you notes from different people that have used the
book during their travels in the magazine.
GWRRA has developed many different types of programs to help you get more
enjoyment out of your Goldwing. There are parking lot practices to hone
your skills, advanced rider courses to challenge your skills, videos
to instruct on many different topics to help you become a better and
safer rider. All of this is available to you the member at no cost.
Speaking of Chapters, it doesn’t really matter where you are as every
chapter is your chapter. The chapters are designed to be very informal
(after all we are friends for fun, safety, and knowledge) and welcome
visiting members with open arms. Meetings are often to different eating
places when the weather permits. We meet up and ride there as a group
sometimes over sixty miles. The chapters usually have some kind of rally
every year that is open to all brands, check the events page in the
magazine for events near you. This doesn’t mean that the districts
or regions don’t do anything as they do.
We also have available, to individuals that don’t own the best touring
bike ever, associate memberships which allow you to take part in our
association. More details about the associate membership are on the
GWRRA website.
To learn more about GWRRA come to a chapter get together and
visit the GWRRA website at
http://www.gwrra.org. Look around at all the links and information
available to you!! I enjoy the message boards as I’m still learning
about my bike. I also make sure to pass on information that I think may be
helpful.
The website can give you more details than I ever could,
plus the information would be correct. Thanks for taking
the time to read this and if you aren’t a member yet, please E-MAIL me for
more information if you are interested.
